Hello

“Even if school hasn’t always felt like it was made for you, this place is. You belong here, you are believed in here, and we will walk beside you while you grow into everything you’re meant to be.”

Sethra Regina Little - Founder

Sethra Regina Little is the CEO and Founder of The Nurturing Group, a grassroots nonprofit based in Greenville, South Carolina, dedicated to strengthening families and communities through communication, mentorship, and holistic support. For nearly two decades, she has led initiatives such as parenting workshops, youth mentoring, student advocacy, and community-based support programs designed to help families navigate real-life challenges with dignity, structure, and hope.

With a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, Sethra’s work is grounded in an understanding of how individual behavior, family dynamics, and community systems intersect. Her background in social work, conflict resolution, and leadership development has equipped her to design programs that are practical, relational, and deeply responsive to the needs of children and families who may feel overlooked in traditional systems.

Sethra is an alumna of the Wendell Jones Leadership Institute and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), where she sharpened her skills in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and values-based service. Over the years, she has collaborated with schools, churches, and community organizations, giving her firsthand insight into the gaps students face—academically, socially, and emotionally—when the standard “one-size-fits-all” model of education does not work for them.

These experiences make Sethra uniquely qualified to develop The PODS Learning Institute. She has spent years listening to parents, students, teachers, and service providers, and she understands both the barriers and the potential within young people who have disengaged from traditional schooling. Her work through The Nurturing Group has shown her what students need beyond textbooks: consistent relationships, clear expectations, emotional support, and environments where their voices matter.

As Founder of The PODS Learning Institute, Sethra is bringing all of this experience together to create a public charter school with an Alternative Education focus that is trauma-informed, relationship-centered, and holistic. She approaches school design the same way she approaches family and community work—seeing the whole child, honoring their story, and building structures that support long-term growth. Her vision is that every student who walks through PODS’ doors will not only catch up academically, but also gain the confidence, skills, and support they need to thrive in school, at home, and in the community.
